Work Experience Abroad for UCD Students
Traineeships for UCD Students
UCD Global may provide funding for students undertaking work experience or internships within any of the EU member states and (opens in a new window)third countries associated with the programme.
Requirements
- The traineeship must be approved by the student’s UCD School and be of at least two months in duration at undergraduate and master's level. PhD researchers may avail of a traineeship of 5 to 30 days.
- The School, the employer and the student must all sign a Learning Agreement before the traineeship starts.
- Funding amounts depend on the destination country and the length of the traineeship.
- As there is limited funding each year, and since funding is not guaranteed, students should first contact UCD Global in advance, to check if they are eligible for a grant and if there is sufficient funding available.
Please email (opens in a new window)erasmus.traineeships@ucd.ie for more information.

Supervising a Trainee from UCD
Have you been asked to supervise a UCD student?
Outgoing traineeship students need to have their traineeship approved by an academic member of staff or a College Internship Manager prior to their departure. This is done via the signing of a Learning Agreement. There is a template available, which UCD Global provides via email.
For further information and instructions on filling out the Learning Agreement, please visit the (opens in a new window)Erasmus+ Programme website.
Please note that Erasmus+ traineeship funding is not guaranteed. Please refer your student to (opens in a new window)erasmus.traineeships@ucd.ie at UCD Global to enquire if funding is available.
