Veteran Affairs (VA) Benefits

Eligible students should first visit the (opens in a new window)US Department of Veterans Affairs website and apply for benefits.

UCD will need to confirm your attendance before your benefits will be released. This confirmation is sent via VAF 22-1999 form.

Yes, University College Dublin (UCD) is an approved institution under the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefit programs.

However, please note that not all programs are approved and the approval request can take several weeks.

To find out if your specific UCD programme is currently eligible:

  1. Visit the (opens in a new window)VA’s WEAMS Institution Search Tool

  2. Click on the “Country” tab.

  3. Scroll through the list and select Ireland, then click Submit.

  4. From the list of institutions, select University College Dublin.

  5. On UCD's profile page:

    • Click on "Programs"

    • Then click "Institution of Higher Learning"

You will now see a list of all UCD programs that are currently approved for VA education benefits.

Yes. If your program isn’t currently listed as approved, UCD can submit an application to the VA for consideration.
